Love those who hurt you the most, because they are probably the ones closest to you. They, too, are on a path, and just like you they are learning to walk before they can fly. Imagine if everybody you hurt in life turned their backs on you? You would be playing a hell of a lot of solitaire. Love them no matter what.
Not even mad. Just hurt and disappointed. Guess those 2 a.m. convos. All the miss you’s. The professing your love. And deep emotional convos when shit hit the fan didn’t mean a thing. But you got what you wanted in the end so I guess you’re happy. Just do me a favor, next time you see me, act like you don’t.
Eventually, you’re going to discover that there are three types of people.
The ones that won’t bother.
They won’t ask you questions because they care,
But rather because it’s the right thing to do
And hey maybe they’ll pick up some good gossip.
Finally have something good to tell their real friends
And they’ll laugh at your expense
Or maybe they’ll just brush off your pain
And after a couple minutes they’ll move on to the next person.
But you get mad that no one cares,
I’ll point to these people.
There’s the silent supporters.
They’ll love you through good times and bad
But they will not ask you too many personal questions,
For fear of intruding.
They will say they don’t want to push you,
That when you’re ready to talk
You’ll know where to find them.
And instead of seeing this as respect, love, and tolerance,
You’re going to see it as indifference.
And eventually they will walk away,
When they realize you aren’t going to open up to them,
Or you’ll leave them stranded,
Because you do that sometimes.
But until then I’ll be advising both sides on the next step.
Finally, there are these people.
The ones who catch all the cues
And spend hours refusing to let you talk circles around them.
They’re experienced and they’re here,
As punching bags, as supporters, as councilors,
And whatever the hell else you need them to be.
They will stick by you,
In any and every way they see fit.
But the reason they understand you so well
Is because they are damaged too.
So when these people need a time out
From being pushed away because they got too close,
You should probably realize that while you’ve been giving hints,
They’ve been sending bat-signals.
And one day when they see all your little signs of stress,
They will ask how you’ve been and
“Okay,” will be a good enough answer.
I hate it when someone says they’ll always be there for you and they never are. like seriously? I have been there for you/listened to you whenever you needed to talk to someone, but I need you one time and you won’t even messages back. Wow thanks. This is why I don’t trust people. 😒
Mini rant over, sorry.
Sometimes I Hate Getting Close To People Because I Think They Will Just Walk Out My Life No Matter How Close We Are
